Is it coeliac disease?

Welcome to Coeliac UK’s free online self-assessment. Find out if you or your child should be tested for coeliac disease - a lifelong autoimmune condition - in just two minutes.

The symptoms of coeliac disease are different for everyone and include: severe or occasional diarrhoea, excessive wind and/or constipation, persistent or unexplained nausea and vomiting, recurrent stomach pain, cramping or bloating, any combination of iron, vitamin B12 or folic acid deficiency, anaemia, tiredness, sudden or unexpected weight loss, mouth ulcers, skin rash (dermatitis herpetiformis), tooth enamel problems, liver abnormalities, unexplained subfertility, repeated miscarriages, neurological problems such as ataxia and peripheral neuropathy.

You will be asked a few straightforward questions about your health and symptoms, and at the end of the assessment you’ll get a recommendation about whether you should be tested, and information on what to do next. We’ll also send the results to your email so it’s easy to show them to your GP.

There is no cost and no commitment to completing the self assessment, but you will be required to set up an account. We do not use the information you provide for any other reason than to guide the recommendation of whether you or your child should be tested.

If you are under the age of 16, please complete with a parent, carer or guardian. Whatever the result, we’re here to help you.
